On October 24, 2004, my father-in-law turned 83. This is a picture of him holding the baptismal certifate he received in
1920.
My husband Dana,
is in the background, and is John Q's younger son. Our sons Eric and Isaac are to the left and right of their Dad.
Dana is employed as an upholsterer at Mitchell Gold in Taylorsville. He attended NC State University for two years, and keeps up with current events. Dana has a good sense of humor, enjoys music, and going camping and hiking.
Isaac is now 22, and wants to become an entomologist. Since he was very young, he took an interest in nature, and would like to help preserve the environment. This past summer Issac was involved in a summer research project with Kansas State University. The project was funded by the National Science Foundation, and involved working with the Regal Fritillary butterfly, a species of special concern in some states, found on the Konza Prairie. The study was part of Kansas States' REU program www.ksu.edu/bsanderc/reu, which gives undergraduate students the opportunity to develop their own research under the direction of a mentor. Dr. Brett Sandercock guided Isaac through the development of "the life history and mark-recapture analysis of the Regal Fritillary (Speyeria idalia Drury)".
Eric is now 19, and after graduating with a degree in Business Management, would like to pursue an MBA. In his free time, he likes movies and playing the extreme sport, paintball, with his friends.
